Emergent properties can only exist within conscious experience.
…
Neither matter nor information can ‘seem to be’ anything. They are what they are.
It makes more sense that existence itself is an irreducibly sensory-motive phenomenon – an aesthetic presentation with scale-dependent anesthetic appearances rather than a mass-energetic structure or information processing function. Instead of consciousness (c) arising as an unexplained addition to an unconscious, non-experienced universe (u) of matter and information (mi), material and informative appearances arise as from the spatiotemporal nesting (dt) of conscious experiences that make up the universe.
Materialism: c = u(mdt) + c
Computationalism: c = u(idt) + c
Multisense Realism: u(midt) = c(c)/~!c.

Love this! Can you elaborate on the relationship between experiential entropy and informational entropy? Also, are you aware of this study involving the new concept of “causal entropy”: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-22261742
The authors make some SERIOUS claims, don’t they? Evidently causal entropy is a physical system’s evolution toward states that have a greater number of possible futures available to it. Sounds like a good definition of what one desires when they desire “freedom.” The question I think of when reading the study is: is evolution the growth of consciousness toward ever greater control of its own future possibility space? It’s an inherently teleological way of looking at evolution. (Though entropy strikes me, in any example, as a teleological scheme of some kind, though scientists are loathe to admit it.)
Sorry! Just saw this: https://multisenserealism.com/2013/04/23/intelligence-maximizes-entropy/
Of course you’re on top of this! Silly me.
